Belote Score Counter: The Automatic Referee
Play Belote without worrying about complex calculations. Scorio handles the game from team formation to the final point tally, automatically applying official rules.
How to count points in Belote?
Belote is a traditional French card game played by 4 players in 2 teams (North/South vs East/West). Point counting can be complex: you need to manage contracts, trumps, the Dedans rule, the Dix de Der and Belote-Rebelote. With Scorio, everything is automated. The app knows the official rules and calculates scores instantly after each round.
- The taking team must reach at least 82 card points to fulfill their contract
- If the contract fails (fewer than 82 points), it's "Dedans": the taking team scores 0 and the opponents receive 162 points
- The Dix de Der adds 10 points to the team that wins the last trick
- Belote-Rebelote (Queen + King of trumps) is worth 20 points and is inviolable, even in case of Dedans
- Capot (winning all tricks) earns 252 points
What contracts are available in Belote?
Scorio manages the 4 types of trump contracts used in classic Belote. At the beginning of each round, an assistant guides you to select the taking team and the chosen contract. The app adapts to your rules, whether you play with classic trumps or the No Trump and All Trump variants.
- Spades Trump (♠) — Spades is the trump suit for the round
- Hearts Trump (♥) — Hearts is the trump suit for the round
- Diamonds Trump (♦) — Diamonds is the trump suit for the round
- Clubs Trump (♣) — Clubs is the trump suit for the round
What is the Dedans rule in Belote?
"Dedans" is one of the most important rules in Belote. If the taking team fails to reach 82 card points (excluding Belote-Rebelote), the contract is considered "failed". The taking team then loses all their card points and scores 0 for that round. Meanwhile, the opposing team automatically receives 162 points, regardless of the actual number of points they accumulated. This penalty mechanism makes every contract decision risky and strategic. Scorio automatically detects this situation and applies the rule without error.
How does a Belote game end with Scorio?
In Scorio, the Belote game ends automatically when a team reaches 501 points. This threshold is configurable according to your playing habits. The app displays the score in real time, shows which team is in the lead and alerts you when a team approaches the final score. At the end of the game, you can view the detailed history of each round, see which contract was played and whether the Dedans rule was applied.
