Coinche Score Counter: Automatic Bids and Contracts
Coinche (also known as Contree) adds an exciting bidding system to classic Belote. Scorio manages bids, overbids, coinche, surcoinche and automatic point calculation according to official rules.
How to count points in Coinche?
Coinche, also called Contree, is a variant of Belote with a bidding system. Before each round, players announce the number of points they expect to score. The taking team must reach their bid to validate the contract. Scorio automatically manages bids, contract validation and point calculation according to official rules.
- Bidding system: players bid from 80 to 160 points (or more), in increments of 10
- Overbidding possible until 3 players pass consecutively
- Coinche: an opponent can coinche (double the contract points)
- Surcoinche: the taker can surcoinche (quadruple the points)
- If the contract is fulfilled, the taking team scores the announced points + bonuses
What is the difference between Coinche and Belote?
Classic Belote has a simple contract system (choice of trump), while Coinche adds a bidding phase before each round. In Coinche, players commit to a minimum number of points to score. This makes the game more strategic as you need to evaluate your hand before playing. Coinche is particularly popular in southern France, especially in Marseille, Toulouse and Nice. Scorio supports both variants with dedicated assistants.
How does bidding work in Scorio?
Scorio's bidding assistant guides you step by step. Each round, a dedicated screen displays the available bids. Each player can bid (80, 90, 100... up to 160+), pass, coinche or surcoinche. The interface is intuitive: a single tap is all it takes to place your bid. When 3 players pass consecutively, bidding ends and the round begins with the retained contract.
- Bids from 80 to 160+ points in increments of 10
- "Pass" button to skip bidding
- "Coinche" button to double the opponent's contract
- "Surcoinche" button to quadruple in response to a coinche
- Contract summary displayed before starting the round
How does a game of Coinche end?
Like Belote, a Coinche game ends when a team reaches 501 points (threshold configurable in Scorio). At the end of each round, Scorio checks whether the contract is fulfilled or failed. If fulfilled, the taking team scores the announced points. If failed, the opponents score the points. In case of coinche, points are doubled; in case of surcoinche, quadrupled.
